W.E. CLASSES

After School Drama Clubs

KS1 - KS3

W.E. Drama Clubs are structured one hour after school drama classes for pupils in Year 1 - Year 9 in Enfield and South Hertfordshire.

Our ethos at W.E. Clubs is to nurture and develop children's love for the performing arts and literature. Our weekly sessions are designed to encourage team building skills, improve confidence and unlock creative potential. Each session is designed to engage the imagination and to improve acting and vocal technique. Creative learning is encouraged through the exploration of performance poetry, contemporary and classic plays, devising, improvisation, monologues/duologues, mask work, slapstick comedy, movement, public speaking, screen acting and chorus work.

Drama and performance is explored in a fun, innovative and safe environment with our team of highly experienced and qualified teachers. All our teachers are fully DBS checked and qualified first aiders.

At W.E. Clubs we understand that many primary schools incorporate a 'Values' based curriculum. We endeavour to support and encourage this by awarding one participant a week with a 'Star of the Week' award.

At the end of each term, we celebrate our participants hard work and progress with a presentation of work to an invited audience of family and friends.

LAMDA EXAMINATION CLASSES

SPEECH & DRAMA
FOR AGES: 9 - 19

Young people who want to excel in their acting can join our LAMDA exam classes. Working at an advanced level in preparation for examinations in Solo Acting & Communications exams, these qualifications are accredited by OFQUAL and are recognised by higher education providers and within the industry. Our LAMDA preparation and exam classes, provide learners with a chance to work in small focussed groups, developing and applying a range of techniques to a varied repertoire of material.
At Worlds End Productions London, students can try their hand at Acting, Public Speaking and Speaking Verse and Prose exams:

ACTING:

Learners will learn the important stage skills required to be a convincing character in a scene that will be presented to an exminer followed by a discussion about their piece.

SPEAKING VERSE & PROSE:

This exam is ideal for bringing out a confident speaker. Your child will explore different verse forms, metre and rhythm and learn about a range of authors and poets.

PUBLIC SPEAKING:

LAMDA Graded Examinations in Speaking in Public are designed to develop the skills necessary for effective oral communication and public presentation. Learners will develop their oral language skills, technical skills and knowledge of oral communication skills, developing those all essential skills that are required for speaking confidently in public.

Students will work with their LAMDA teacher towards either the Acting exam, Public Speaking exam or the Speaking Verse and Prose exam. The duration of lessons is one hour. Lessons will be taught for three terms within an academic year and a showcase of work will take place during the third term to an invited audience. WE will create an individual programme for each learner. On average, a candidate will take up to two exams a year.

As a registered exam centre, exams may be held locally at our venue in Enfield. However, this is subject to LAMDA's examiner availability and our classes meeting the total number of fees that LAMDA requires for a private centre. Alternative exam dates can usually be made at other centres in London.
